First wheelchair
I got this wheelchair as my first one. I used it together with the emotion DuoDrive. Overall, everything I can say about the wheelchair is overshadowed by the fact that the service from the medical supply store was so bad that a brake came loose on the bus and I crashed into the side when starting off. First, one of the caster stems was bent, and after that, I had a frame failure on the side. That is also why I didn't use it for all that long. I thought that a folding frame wheelchair would be practical. However, I had to realize that it is not nearly as practical as I had thought. Therefore, I would probably not choose this again. Overall, I liked using it even though it really is not that great. I think the relief of being mobile again at all was just pretty huge. The footplate broke relatively quickly and the screw was broken. I have the type of footplate that you can flip up. It is not always easy to hook it in, which is why it constantly annoyed me. Compared to my new wheelchair, I also don't find it all that ergonomic. Both the seat and backrest are upholstered, but I don't perceive it as very stable. The front wheels are also partly a bit poor when steering. One wheel always shakes a lot, which makes me unsure whether everything is safe. The axle could then no longer be tightened properly either, which only made the problem worse. I find it rather bulky, even when it is folded. It is also relatively high, and because of that, combined with the DuoDrive, it is difficult to get it into a car trunk. Meanwhile, because I received much better advice with my new wheelchair, I made a completely different choice. Presumably, it is often the case that after the first wheelchair, different choices are made again. I think for the short time I used it, it was okay. But I would not choose this wheelchair again!
- Simple wheelchair, good for beginners
- Folding frame for those who like it and it is relevant
- Bulky and not very light
- Ergonomics not so great
- Many repairs
